RECOMMENDED INSTALLATION FOR MIRROR GLASS REPLACEMENTS:

Most Mirror Glass Is Bonded To A Plastic Inter-Platform Or Backing Plate That Is Mounted Inside The Mirror Head.

1. Remove all existing glass from the backing plate.

2. Clean the backing plate and back of Redi Cuts mirror with rubbing alcohol or adhesive-safe glass cleaner.

3. Locate contact points between the mirror and mirror backing-plate by dry-fitting the Redi-Cuts mirror replacement.

4. Apply Burco Redi Stick patches (included with mirror glass purchase) to mirror backing-plate. Press patches firmly into place keeping white release liner in tact. Using this method will optimize adhesion. Peel off release liner. Depending on mirror size, 4-6 adhesive patches are recommended. Make sure they are applied at the contact point identified by dry fitting the mirror replacement as show in step 3.

Note: With some convex mirrors, it may be necessary to back-fill with urethane or silicone adhesive since the mirror matches the bend of the original mirror glass.

5. Press Redi Cuts mirror firmly into backing plate.

ELECTROCHROMIC FIT OVER REPLACEMENTS are designed to fit on top of the existing glass which contains the heating elements behind. Except For Loose Pieces, Broken Mirror Is To Remain In Backing Plate.
An "Electrochromic" or "Self-Dimming" mirror has a gel inside to make it self dimming. The gel that makes up the self dimming feature, is "sandwiched" between two pieces of glass with the heating grid or elements sitting behind the glass, all of which are adhered to the backing plate. When the mirror glass is broken, the gel leaks out.
Since Electrochromic Fit-Over mirrors are designed to fit on top of the broken mirror, there is no need to take off two layers of glass and the heating grids from the backing plate to replace the mirror glass, which makes it cost effective and easier to install. With the Electrochromic Fit-Over mirror glass replacement, the Self-Dimming Feature Of The Original Mirror Is Eliminated, But Its Heat Feature Remains Functional.

SNAP RING STYLE MIRRORS Are mounted directly into the mirror head and retained by adhesive and the existing plastic cap ring.
